At Midwest Hernia Center, we select the most appropriate surgical technique for each patient, given their specific problem and health history (we do NOT believe one-technique-fits-all). Every recommendation is based on the treatment that will be the safest and least uncomfortable for that particular patient, leading to the fastest possible recovery and the best outcome. Whenever possible, we use less-invasive laparoscopic surgery and local anesthesia, which can help speed recovery time.

But there are times when more traditional surgery is necessary. Our surgeons can perform many different types of hernia operations and are proficient in the most recent advances in hernia treatments.

Because of this, most of our patients go home the very day that they have surgery. Most can also resume normal activities within just a few days. They are delighted to return to a life without hernia pain!
